My name is Jonathan. I'm not sure why others don't ever just start with that on their profiles. I mean, if we had met for the first time in the real world, our names would have probably been one of the first things we tackled before we got into things like education history, political affiliation, annual income, life ambitions, and all the other stuff we post here before we just tell people our names. So I'm starting with that... Just like I would if we had met in person.... Hello, I'm Jonathan. What's your name? I'm giving this thing a shot, but just window shopping for now. I guess I should write something revealing about myself that gives you an idea of what I'm all about, but I'd prefer to do that from across a dinner table than in an essay. Some people will share that sentiment, and others, I'm sure, will prefer an ongoing back and forth dialogue before making the monumental commitment to meet a person and talk to them face to face (that's a little bit of sarcasm if you didn't pick up on it). For that hesitant majority, here's a little bit about me to hopefully make you feel warm and cozy about the idea of getting together... I love life. That really sums it up. And I love the simple things in life... if it were available, or socially acceptable, to drink Manischewitz in social settings, I would. Simple things. Lastly, and this is just plain old honesty, if you don't LOVE dogs, then feel free to overlook me. I have 2 Great Danes that are a huge part of my life, so if a little bit of white dog hair on your new dark blue jeggings bothers you, this is never going to work. hahaha. But let's be real here for a second, can we please?... This whole online dating thing is a visual medium, you know it and I know it, and I could write a million things about myself that I think would be appealing to a woman, which still wouldn't give you any real clue as to whether or not I'm a complete psychopath... So let's just call a spade a spade.... Am I attractive enough for you to say yes to dinner? That's all this really boils down to, isn't it? And from there, we can start to figure out how interested we both are in the person behind the jdate photos. You in or you out? Simple. (see how I brought back that original theme of 'simplicity'?) hahaha. Laugh, it makes the world a better place. :)
