Not quite sure about this piece---it's hard to describe who we are, isn't it!

Among other words, I have been described by friends as eclectic, warm, open, ethical, intuitive, trustworthy, determined, passionate, and playful. My political beliefs are liberal.

I love animals of all sorts and I cannot live without laughter, coffee, and dark chocolate. I also enjoy tinkering around the house, growing my own vegetables, reading, music, and my book group. I'm finding " the extraordinary in the ordinary," to add a cliche. Making time each day for self-reflection is important to me. I've done a lot of personal work and feel comfortable with who I am.

I love to walk and enjoy easy hikes and the outdoors. Water aerobics is my favorite regular exercise. I love beaches and exploring new towns (and a bunch of other things, like everyone else). I do have one "little black dress" for those occasions where black pants or jeans won't work...

I'd say I'm fairly low-key (except when outraged by some injustice), have a dry sense of humor and consider myself low maintenance. Some say I have an artistic flair. I'm also a very sentimental person and love to surround myself with beautiful things that have character and charm, which would include fun and funky things...

I cherish my time hanging out with family and friends. My sons are wonderful young men. I feel incredibly fortunate to have many caring people in my life. I do believe that we are here to make life better for each other, and I miss the "we" in life's journey. My husband died 4 years ago, and I know how rich life can be when shared with that special someone. I miss the genuine communication; the knowing, growing, fun and intimacy that a healthy relationship embraces. I love the special looks and touches that are shared.

I would love to get to know someone who shares similar values and some interests--what's important to me is someone who has integrity and is present, empathetic, honest, emotionally available, an animal lover, playful, POLITICALLY middle to the left of center, and of course, loving. This laundry list is in no particular order---it's just what I bring with me.... ”
