And when the leaves fall we search our souls, endeavoring to restore “the better angels of our nature.” Our history is tragic but also noble and triumphant. Despite the great obstacles and hatreds we face, what could compare to the revival of the Hebrew people and language after two millennia of dispersion and persecution? For me, strict observance is not essential, but an appreciation for the greatness of our history and way of life is. I cherish life and love people. I like to think each day that I can brighten at least one person's life. I enjoy movies, coffee over nice conversation, and good food. |
